Thanks Spencer!

Last night Spencer took me on a really fun date. In December of 2008 the valley opened up a mass transit service called the light rail. It's like a subway except it runs on the street instead of underneath it. We had never ridden on it since it's start. So last night we joined with Bryce and Nikki Dopp some good friends of ours and used the light rail. It was an adventure. None of us knew what we were doing. We needed to get to a restaurant so we tried to find something that was close to the light rail track. We decided to go to a Hawaiian barbecue place. So we got off the train and started walking toward the restaurant. When we got there, we saw that it was closed for the night. Oops. So then we got to walk a little while to try to find something else. We wanted to go somewhere new and different so we walked and walked. Pretty soon we were all getting very hungry and a little hot from walking. We finally decided to go to Chiles... not exactly new and different, but it was food, and they had air conditioning :) It was so much fun. And the best thing was that we weren't in a hurry and didn't really have a plan set in stone. So we just did what came up and what sounded good at the time. It was relaxing in that way. The Dopps are great friends. It's always fun when we get together. I'm lucky to have a husband who tries to be creative in planning dates. It's amazing how much cooler going out to dinner can be when you simply use a different mode of transportation. Thanks Spencer!

Sounds like a fun date! We've only ridden on the light rail once when it first opened - it was free and really crowded.
