Clear Feeling

Have you ever had a time when all of a sudden for a brief moment, everything seems to be connected and planned and you can see it clearly? I had a few hours like that today. I was given an opportunity to see clearly some of the ways that the Lord is guiding my path. I should back up to begin relating this experience. About two months ago I was called to be on the stake staff for girls camp. I was asked to be in charge of the music and along with that came distinct instruction and inspiration telling me that I would be an instrument in touching and changing lives of the young woman in my stake. After this instruction I felt responsible and empowered with a strong desire to lose myself in the work of girls camp. But on the other hand, I haven't been to girls camp for over 10 years and not only that, I've never served in the Young Woman organization. So I also felt like I needed a lot of help from those who had and especially from my loving Heavenly Father. The theme of girls camp this year is "Behold! A Royal Army." Today I was thinking about my role and what needed to happen. I went to church on my own because both of my kids are sick with croup. Although this is a negative thing, I was able to listen intently on the things that were said during sacrament meeting. The opening song was one I hadn't heard before titled: "Oh Thou Rock of our Salvation". The entire song went beautifully with our camp theme and I took a mental note that it could be included and used for some of the music at camp. I prayed during the sacrament that I would know what the I needed to do in my role at girls camp and also in my role as a mother. Then, the sister who was speaking shared a story of the English navy and related it to being in the Lords army. At this point my mind was completely engaged and thinking about camp. During primary we practiced the song "Come Follow Me" over and over. Then, third block came and instead of teaching the 3-yr-olds as I normally do, I got to go to a meeting for adults and listen to the messages from our Bishop and his counselors. The Bishop came up and told us that he had the song "Come Follow Me" in his head all week while thinking about what he should talk about. This along with other promptings he had received led him to speak to us about becoming closer to the Savior this year. As the class went on we discussed reading scriptures daily, keeping the Sabbath Day holy, attending the temple, and sharing the gospel. By the end of the meeting I knew that growing closer to Christ was THE way that I could make the most of all the roles in my life. I took lots of notes so I could remember the peaceful, clear feeling.
